A little bit about Fair Day:
Joy on the grass. All day. All of us.
Victoria Park bursts with joy for Sydney’s largest LGBTQIA+ community gathering – market stalls and mouth-watering eats, live performances, pets in peak drag, kids with glitter, elders with stories, friends with hugs. It’s the perfect first dance of the season.
A little bit about volunteering:
As a volunteer, you are an important member of our team and the face of Mardi Gras to the community at large as everyone arrives and during the event. Becoming a volunteer, you will be enriched in our wonderful community, and you will meet all kinds of people that may become some of your best friends for life! You will be connecting with your community and without a doubt, have a fabulous time!
There are a variety of teams and roles available at Fair Day, including pre- and post- Fair Day! These include a variety of start times, responsibilities, and in some cases, requirements. Below you can view all available roles – to see which one sparks with your unique interests and skills! You can also see how many spots are available, so rally the troops and bring together a group to get involved together and come along and make new connections too.
Mardi Gras relies on you to show up to your shift, if you cannot make it, please let us know. Stuff can happen, we understand, but we most likely will need to replace your shift as every job counts.
Please always conduct yourself in an appropriate and ethical manner, in accordance with the Mardi Gras ICARE Code of Conduct. Think about how you would like to be treated, we are all family!
You must be over 16yrs to volunteer at Fair Day. We have a strict zero tolerance policy to being under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs during your shift.
